Darn it!

“Extending the life of a garment by 9 months would reduce carbon, waste and water footprints by around 20 - 30% each.” - www.fashionrevolution.org

This scrumpled discarded shirt has been hardcore mended and embroidered with inspirational quotes from the Fashion Revolution. The decorative repairs celebrate each hole and stain that tell the history of this well-loved shirt. It features clothing care labels, reclaimed sewing machine parts, is stitched with second-hand threads and includes the embroidery thread waste in little tubes.

Inspired by the Fashion Revolution, ‘Darn it!’ was created to represent all the people, resources and time that go into making our clothes that get discarded so quickly.

Fashion Revolution is a global movement calling for greater transparency, sustainability and ethics in the fashion industry. The #WhoMadeMyClothes campaign encourages people to turn their clothes inside out and read the care label. Be curious, find out, do something. Join the movement! www.fashionrevolution.org  #FashionRevolution
